Absorb
the light
And not the dark
Lift up your face
To the warmth
Of human compassion
Be certain
that there is charity
In the world
Do not leave someone
Empty
handed
Spread the benevolence
Spread the feelings
Around the world

Simple kindness should abound
ReplyDeleteVery true Sheilagh! Easy as it is but so elusive. Worse, aggression seems to take its place!
Hank
thank you Hank. It's what I truly believe in. Being kind can make someone else's bad day a little better.
ReplyDeleteClearly and wonderfully put Sheilagh...you have such a bright and warm soul..you would think it was easy but some people just can't embrace kindness...
ReplyDeleteI've met a lot of people like that. Sometimes they get frustrated with me because no matter how unkind they are I'm kind to them; most of them come around eventually.
ReplyDeleteKindness is important but it also can be an affliction. I have seen kind people being used and taken advantage of constantly. Kindness is often mistaken for stupidity. There are too few genuinely kind people in this world and my wish for them is that their goodness is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteRallentanda
too true I get people who think it is a weakness or you're stupid to be kind but I dismiss them with my mother and grandmother always said to me those are the people that need kindness the most.
ReplyDeletebeautiful message in the poem, hope everyone listen to it
ReplyDeleteMy take on 3WW : Haiku - Tolerance
thank you Cifar
