Tuesday Writings #28-Happiness Personfied

Happiness Personfied

She is tiny and wrinkled
Her face, red and a little battered
Like she’s been through a war
She has,she tried so hard
With mother’s help to be born
But after many, many hours
Her mother worn
They pulled her from her cozy home
Into the cold bright world
She is a newborn baby girl
Long awaited and loved so much
She’ll grow up big and strong
The apple of her father’s, mother’s

And grandparent’s eyes.

Tuesday Writings#27~ End Prejudice

Prompts this week : Impartiality, Enlightened, Educated.

End Prejudice
Words uttered having meaning
They cannot be tracked back
Rewritten with different meaning
Racism is racism
Shameful and demeaning
It should be talked about
Telling the person who utters it
No, this is not acceptable
Educate the children teach them well
So they can teach their elders
No more bigotry,
No more bias too,
Just a world where men,
And women are not judged,
By the differences they hold,
Let’s find the courage,
The dignity and the conviction,
To transform prejudice, backward, beliefs,
Into tolerance and impartiality,
It is possible to become more enlightened,
The words in back rooms,
Behind closed doors,
Still echo in the world,
Let’s end that hidden prejudice, too
For educated, open-minded people
Want to live in that world.

Tuesday Writings -No#26

Tuesday Writings -No#26
Prompts this week: Denouement, Stardust, Turncoat
This is an imagining not anything I know personally.

The denouement of my life
Came when the stardust fell from my eyes
I saw them for what they really were
Not family, not people who loved me

But turncoats who thought of only themselves.

Stories Coming Alive

Stories Coming Alive

The light beckoned
Calling gently
To come hither
It was all in my imagination
As I stared at the picture
But the stories called to me
The forest animated
Flourishing with life
Made me feel aware
As if the earth called to me
I walked through the forest
In my mind's eye
A world of wonder
Where fairies dwell
Magical creatures inhabited
Appeared before me
For an hour
Then for all time
As I took up my pen
The tales came alive

Tuesday's Writing #No 23~ Wonder

Prompts: this week:  Treasuredbittersweet anticipation

Wonder

The wonder of Santa Claus
Seen through children’s eyes
Brings back treasured memories
Of Christmases long ago
The anticipation of Christmas morning
The family gathering too
Seen through rose-coloured glasses
The bittersweet remembrance
Siblings gone too soon
Of parents gone too
Forgotten for a moment
Lost in the anticipation
Of the celebration

So long ago

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel
At my lowest point
My heart broken
My spirit shattered
My body’s existence in danger
You came to me
I felt your hands
Take mine, lending strength
When I had no legs to stand
I felt you lift me up
I felt your love
Telling me
You can beat this too
I took those gifts
I soldiered on
I beat that cancer
But never forgot
You were the reason

I won

Tuesday Writings No.22-Ginger Plague

Prompts this week:Prickles, taste, hives

Ginger Plague
At Christmastide
The smell of ginger
Is in the air
I love the taste but it hates me
Ginger gives me
More than hives
My throat prickles
Making it hard to soon breathe
My epi-pen I’ll soon need
Thank goodness for modern science
When every corner I turn
There’s ginger cookies
Ginger drinks hot and cold
Ornaments and gingerbread houses
Displayed proudly you see
Avoidance is impossible
It seems.

I remember

It seems a million years ago
Or just yesterday
I’m conflicted you see
For I miss you just the same
As I did the day you left us
Taking your last breath
And with it a piece of our hearts

I remember you everyday
Wanting to pick up the phone
And hear your voice
Just one more time

I wish you could see
The accomplishments your kids
And grandkids have achieved
Because of your teachings
We strive for success
And succeed doing our best
You taught so many things
But the most important things
Taught were to love life
Love family, be happy even
When times are tough
For with family
We can weather any storm
Happiness is at our call
Love you Mom
Now and always

Happy Birthday
