Three Word Wednesday - Dandelions

It is enigmatic and maybe gruesome
And it irritates me so
How those yellow flowers
Come back no matter
How many you pull
That grows and grows
You can mow them down
You can yank them out
But still they flourish
Rank and row
For medicine
Or use the greens
For salad
I’ll take mine
With wine
They hide out in corners
Where I never go
Becoming taller
As they rapidly grow
Still they sprout
Develop and breed
Develop and breed
And the puffs
Change and blow
Spreading flowers
Where ever they go
We'll never be rid of them
So I guess it's live
And let live
Until they grow too tallThen I'll yank-em
Root and all

But surely as a child you loved them? Dandelions are OK by me but thistles; no way!
ReplyDeleteno I don't think I ever liked them Old Egg, maybe it's because my little brother trying to tickle me with them smeared the yellow in my face?
ReplyDeleteLoved this poem. There are plants like certain people who are invasive irritating and seemingly indestructible:)

ReplyDeleteI guess I don't find them pretty
DeleteIrritations are infectious they emerge from any direction. Ignore or yank them off. Both have the same effects.
