You dazzle me
With gifts
Meant to wow
You dictate every word
I am to think and print
But your flimsy attempts
Just make me sad
Then your nature
Gets the best of you
And you erupt
In anger
Condemning me with
Broad strokes of your brush
Fake news you shout
As the truth is printed
Painting your true intentions
But when you fail
The first person you call
Is me
Pleading your case
Painting your world
Erupting when I do my job
And tell the world
The complete story
You yell ‘Fake news!!’
Yet again
The emperor has no clothes

Ps there is fake news that does not come from news sources but when you hear it over and over again question the source and why they claim fake news.

Books

Books

I read their pages
My heart races
My brain follows
The adventure
Begins and I follow
Each page leading to
New situations
New places
New experiences
Enfolding for me
I am taken away
For a few hours
Or a few days

I live in books

The Ides of March

With vigorous scrolling
Of newspaper articles
We conclude
The Ides of March
Are upon us
Should we be taut
With worry and fret
That the world
Is coming to an end
Or should we put our trust
In moral, noble people
Who seek to fix
What’s wrong
Through protest and voice
Never underestimate
The goodness in the world
For someone with virtue
Can rule the world
If they choose the right time

But it seems it’s a waiting game.

The wind whips

Leaves hidden

Below the melted snow

The evergreen sways

Its branches flowing

Sounds unidentifiable

Raspy and shifty in nature

Maybe the sounds

Of metal and cement

Lifting in the wind

My hair is full of leaves and dirt

Painful to the scalp

I scurry to the house

Entering my home

I sit in my chair

The lights blink

As I listen to the wind

I feel safe

Surrounded by four walls.
