Jungle Game
Smart little bird
Hiding in the grasses
Hiding from the oafish cat
Next door who thinks my yard
The cat’s own
Poor little bird
It’s red plume however
A dead giveaway
Pray the meandering cat
That nameless fiend
Doesn’t come
Or the bird
Can fly away
In time
At its jungle game

What clever verses! Love how they fit your playful photos. And how interesting that you included the three words' definitions at the start.
ReplyDeletethank you Linda
ReplyDeleteDogs always adapt to life with humans but cats never do as their killing instincts remain strong. We should have invented the mousetrap before we thought about befriending the cat!
ReplyDeleteHa ha as they say they'e only following their instincts
ReplyDeleteTsk - I love the life you instil in this moment
ReplyDeletethank you Jae Rose
DeleteIt is hide and seek, perhaps fun for the cat in trying to make easy meat of the bird. It is dangerous game for the bird to match the fun though!
